Mickey Khoury

Michael Williams Khoury, 45, of Overland Park, Kansas, was born August 13, 1948. He died June 28, 1994 at the home. Services will be at 2 o'clock today at Nativity Catholic Church, Leawood, Kansas: burial will be in Corinth  Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be made to hospice care through the Visiting Nurses Association.  Mr. Khoury was born in Cairo, Egypt and lived in this area for 18 years and in San Juan, Puerto Rico for 10 years. He formally owned the Metropolis  Bar and Disco in San Juan. He graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 1966 and received his bachelor degree from Rockhurst College in 1972.  Survivors include his mother, Georgette Khoury of the home, and two brothers, Paul Khoury of Leawood and Richard Khoury of Dallas. Arrangements have been made through Newcomers of Overland Park, Kansas.  Published in the Kansas City Star June 30, 1994.

I remember playing Spin the Bottle at Mickey's house, probably in 1965.  Also, he was a tireless worker on decorations for the Junior Prom.

I played tennis one evening with Mickey. He'd played before. I hadn't. He ran my butt into the ground. Godspeed and RIP Mickey.
