Born November 6, 1948

Rex E. Babcock, 54, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away March 7, 2003. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Cremation. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Dream Factory or to the Jackson County Sheriff's K-9 Unit. Mr. Babcock was born November 6, 1948, to Norman and Florence Babcock. Rex was a graduate of SM West High School, and held a Business Administration Degree from Pittsburg State University. He owned and operated a restaurant on the water at Lake Lotawana with his wife, Marilyn, for many years. Known as the "Laid Back Golfer," Rex and Marilyn were active boaters on the Lake. Mr. Babcock was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Babcock. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, father, Norman Babcock, sister, Jacqueline Crumpler, nieces, nephews, and many other close family members. (Arr.: D.W. Rex was a fraternity brother of mine at Pitt State, I knew of his passing but not the obituary.
